I read once that parents with ADHD kids are twice as likely to D up until the child hits 8. Then it drops back to normal. I guess by 8, the kid starts learning how to handle it, you've figured the medication or just learned to handle the issues better.

I showed that to W about two years ago. I'm not sure if it registered. By then I think she'd already made up her mind. D7 turns 8 in July.

D7 is doing a lot better this year and I told W back in October, the last R talk, that we've worked so hard on D7 and now we are seeing progress, but we never worked on us and I can't understand why she refuses to.

She didn't answer.

I'm in for a couple of long days. I called the afterschool sitter to get her social security number because we were going to claim her pay as a deduction on our taxes.

This is standard practice.

She said she'd already filed, hadn't claimed it and didn't want it to come back on her.

I said we didn't bring it up because we just assumed she'd be claiming it. So I told her, to be clear, we'd be claiming it next year.

So she then quit by text. Now I talked her out of quitting two weeks ago, so something has been building up with her. I got her to commit to stay until we find a replacement, but this means having to hash things over with W.

I've sent W a series of texts and emails today and she hasn't responded. Her phone may be dead. I have no idea what they are doing today.
