Thanks, Luv and Newmama!

It's really just a continuous struggle for PMA... Once in awhile it gets the best of me...

The dog and I did our walk/job, and then I came home and cooked, took a shower, put on a cute outfit, and, actually, had a good hair day!

In awhile, we're off to a game, and then some friends are coming over.

Sigh...

PS - I credit the turn-around to my pastor's service message this am. Listened to it on podcast during walk/jog...

Keep up the PMA!

Now that you're feeling better I'll tell you this: women usually lose weight in their breasts first. It comes off in the opposite order it goes on so. It's SO unfair.

Also, I've read a couple articles recently that said the only way to lose weight is through diet. Yes, exercise is important for health reasons and because muscle burns fat, but it won't directly move the scale. Muscle does weigh more than fat but, as you noticed with your vest, it is more compact so you can lose inches without actually losing any weight.

I'm struggling with the same issue. I'm working out now but still eating crap so I'm not any closer to my goal weight. I'll be able to get a handle on the eating in the next couple months.

First big goal accomplished in my list of things to do in my absolutely amazing second half of my life.

Yup, if you don't have a handle on the food stuff, it's really hard to lose weight. I had a contract where I hiked for about six hours a day for 3 months. I don't think I lost a single pound (I ate more to compensate for the energy burned). What has worked for me is calorie counting (tracking foods at FitDay.com). What I like is that I can eat whatever I want as long as I control portions. Some days I eat giant piles of veggies and all the good stuff. Other days it's not so ideal, but I still stay within my target range. And the weight gradually comes off.

And the exercise you're doing is great! You probably are burning fat as others have pointed out.

Thanks, guys!!! And, Cutter - way to be!!!!

Pearl, I also lose weight from my cheeks first... odd!

Flow, you know I started tracking my calories and activity on caloriecount.com, since I started the Couch to 5k program... I'm between 1100 and 1900 calories a day, averaging out in the 1500 range... I've been pretty diligent about documenting it, too. (I LOVE LISTS!!!) We'll see what happens... I'm going to to cut those 1900 cal days back to 1700 (ish), and this week on the running program is a lot more running! I just got back, and I'm dripping!

I was good last night, though... I only had two small pieces of pizza (w/out the crust, and a ton of veggies), and a small piece of funfetti cake! BUT, I did have two cosmo's and two shots of Jager! Oh, wait, and a beer. My calories still came in under 1900, BUT, I'm sure they weren't very good ones!!

No headache this am!!!

I recommend "The Thunderdome" for breakfast...

I think the best site to track calories is sparkpeople dot com
