Maybe one of your neighbors had roots in their pipes and used that stuff that kills the roots. When I was getting stuff for my sink, the guy said once you used it you would be able to tell which tree it was because it would start dying.

Sorry about your car.

Hi, kat!

There aren't any pipes anywhere near the dying trees. It is possible that the trees are in the area where the concrete guys cleaned up, though it doesn't feel like quite the right area, from my recollection. There's not a lot I can do about it, other than wait til I know they are dead, and take them out. And not put another tree there! I'll probably plant some flowers, maybe some lantana, they seem to be almost impossible to kill!

After reading some of your history on Bobbi Jo's thread..

For old times sake:

Oelwein, Maynard, Tripoli, Denver, Sumner, St. Lucas, West Union, Fayette (the town), Elgin, Clermont,

Pretty close (just a county or two away) to my old stomping grounds smile

In fact I drove right through the heart of the county this week-end.

small world.

Hi Bridgestone!

My grandparents were from Maynard, I spent a fair amount of my time there during the summer in the late 6os and early 70's. My other grandmother lived in Fayette, she was a dorm mother at Upper Iowa, and I would ride the bus over to visit her. Of course, they went to Oelwein to shop often. I had (probably still have) relatives in a lot of the little towns up there!

(((((mishka)))))

I'm around, though less. I'm watching though! And I have been really happy to hear about someone's exercise and weight loss! smile

I've been feeling a bit lonely one the one hand, but pretty picky on the other. So I'm in no rush. I have been purposely trying to break out of my shell a little. I went to Friday's to eat last week, and I asked the waitress her name. It's not something I would normally do. The interesting part is that she told me (ok that's not so interesting), went on her way (still not really interesting), then came back and asked me mine! (Finally interesting!) Yesterday S12 and I went to see "Alice in Wonderland", and afterwards we went to Friday's (his choice, noit my suggestion). By coincidence we sat in the same waitress's section, and she remembered me, and my name. S12 was a little freaked out by that!

Spring is coming, it's supposed to be 80 Wednesday, and for the rest of the week!

Hi jeff!!
Our group seems to fading out... It's sad but I guess it means people are moving forward. We really need to do that DB meet up!

I miss Friday's...there isn't one close to me!

I want to see Alice too, not sure if I should take the kids or if it would scare them!?

Nice on the waitress remembering you, funny it freaked out your son! wink

I miss our little group, too. Updates are fewer and far between but I suppose that it a good thing. It means we have lives!

Or nothing interesting going on!! grin

That is so funny about your son getting freaked out by the waitress remembering your name. What did he say? If she remembered your name then you must have made an impression on her. LOVE IT!
