Journaling,

W had her interview today. She was really nervous I gave her a kiss and hug before she left and told her she will do fine.
Son had a play in school today and since W was in her interview I made a video for her. When she got back seemed upbeat happy. She feels really good about her interview.
I heard back from Lucas films (Star wars) where I had an application. They thanked me for my interest but found someone more qualified.
I have not heard back from the City Exam I took a week ago. I don’t feel I did really well on the test and have pretty much came to the conclusion that I will not be asked to continue on to the next level. I am ok with it and hey if by chance they do call me then I will be happy but like I said I am not counting on it.
How is my M going you may ask? Things are going ok. I have stopped referring to our room as “our room” I now call it my room.
I have pretty much taken on the “as if” attitude and I see a change in W. She seems concerned about me in a good way. I mean like she knows I would love the job with the City and she keeps on saying “why haven’t they called you yet... It’s been a week” Also I received a letter from the state that granted me a training program because I lost my job due to “off shoring”... This would extend my unemployment to two years as long as I was in a school or training program. My W said I should look into something that has to do with working on cars….This is also a change for her. She used to hate it when I worked on cars because “got greasy” and “it was dirty”...
I was thinking about trying to get Smog certified. I figure everybody needs to have their cars smog checked. AND you really don’t get “Greasy” doing it.
My B day is Saturday and W asked me if I want to go to this new Restaurant/Pub that opened up in town. (With son of course). I said sounds good me,
And last but not least I need to call in for jury duty on Monday…

BTW all of you DBer back east… Last two days it has been in the 70s here in California…..but rain is on the way

Jury duty huh.. hope you get a interesting case!

That stinks about lucas films, that would have been a cool job.. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the other.

Your posts are positive, even if she is still at a stop in her life, yours is moving along... keep it up.. you have to make you happy too.

Well had a pretty good B-Day... (Thanks Bill). My uncle gave me a cream canister he used to use on his dairy. He had it chrome plated. I know it means allot to him and I was really surprised he gave it up. He has no kids and he is kind of my unofficial step dad since my dad passed away years ago. He also gave me this real cool 12 X 18 picture his Chevy car club had taken of their cars at a closed down Chevy dealership. My Uncle has a NICE 56 Chevy. The picture has 56, 57 and 58 Chevy’s lined up like an old car lot for sale.
Today I am going to the store to pick up a frame and I am going to take down one of the “sissy Cat” pictures wife has hanging in MY room and put it up.

My sister must really still be pissed at me. She didn’t even call to wish me Happy B day.
I was a little disappointed because w did not get me a card. But I know wife does not appreciate cards and so it was not a really big deal for her. I guess sometimes recognizing your own LL and recognizing your W’s LL helps because even though yours was not recognized you know it was because your wife does not see how important it is to you NOT because your wife meant anything personal by it.. We did go out to dinner and I had a really good time.
Wife has changed so much from two years ago. I am starting to see the little girl in her again. AND BTW I gained a year last night... I must really be getting old. All week I was under the impression I was turning 53...Actualy I turned 52… WOW I feel stupid but happy I have another year added to my life...
Wife did get me some more memory for my Lap top and she and I are going to install it together later today.
Speaking of computer work... I went and talked to a mechanic I know and asked him what he thought about me getting state certified to do smog. He advised me to stay away from anything that has to do with cars right now. There are so many mechanics out of work. He advised me if the state is going to pay for me to be retrained in anything Computers repair is the way to go.
So Monday I am calling my job councilor and planning on going to computer repair (IT) training. This is what I was thinking about doing anyway right after I got laid off 8 months ago. I am kind of excited to be going back to school. This has surpassed my anxiety waiting to hear about the test I took for the city job.
So now if I get the job great... If not that is great too because I can go to school...
Wife feels really good about her interview and I hope she gets it. She went to the doctor last week and she has high Blood pressure due to stress and being overweight. I think if she gets this job her self esteem will shoot way up.
It’s raining today

Good News and kind of good news

Well as I said W did not get the job. And Today I looked into the Government program on getting retrained. I was tired of waiting to hear from the job I took the exam for.
Found out some fantastic info. They will pay... (Not Loan) for up to three years of schooling. The councilor I spoke to also said that the private collage that I wanted to go to was covered in this program. He also said that with this program after I graduate and get a job if that job pays less than what I was getting paid at my last job that the state will supplement my pay for up to two years... AND while under this program I can get health insurance that is 80% tax deductable and cheaper that what I am paying now.
So I went ahead and sent the paperwork in. He said it takes about a month to process. I was really excited when I got home about going back to school but was worried what if I get that job now. I would have to decide between good paying part time jobs now that someday may lead to full time work or go back to school for two years and learn a new skill that I can use anywhere get good pay.
But I did not have to worry long. Later today I received an email that I did not get the job.
So it looks like the doc is going back to school. My next worry is that I hope I can start after our father son trip to Eureka. I told my son that if the classes start before we will not be able to go. He understands but I know both of us will be disappointed.

sounds pretty cool how things are taking shape Doc. I will pray that the classes don't in any way interfere with the planned father/son trip to Eureka.

Things keeps looking bigger and better, but it feels as if the reward is always just around the next corner. However, this time it really is. Although it's easy for you to believe that you're fooling yourself, your extra efforts are very likely being noticed by someone who matters. Continue to do the best possible job at work, but don't push for any extra attention. Remember, what goes around comes around, so don't give up now.

It makes you wonder if you are doing the right thing or just fooling yourself when you have been here so long that the people that joined when you did have either have gotten divorced or patched things up and you are left here with a whole new group of DBing people...
