Oh, I mean I am 1/8th Spanish but got those genes...not the culture unfortunately! (parents divorced when I was 2 and my bio dad never bothered to know me)

About arranging furniture in a big room- do not assume the furniture has to "hug" the walls! Is the TV your focal point? Can the TV be hung on a different wall? Just trying to help you think outside the box, haha!
