I wanted to share my hope and happiness with everyone here. I don't know if anyone remembers me but I used to post in the MLC forum. I am divorced and have moved on. I am about to be married in a few weeks to a wonderful man. We have been dating for over two years, got engaged in September, bought a new home together, and are merging our families. Today I am trying to finalize the readings for our wedding ceremony and came across one quote that I thought was very inspirational. Does anyone have any favorite quotes that you would recommend for wedding readings?

Roses
Its madness to hate all roses because you got scratched with one thorn..
To give up on your dreams because one didn’t come true...
To lose faith in prayers because one was not answered...
To give up on your efforts because one of them failed…
To condemn all of your friends because one betrayed you…
To not believe in love because someone was unfaithful or didn’t love you back…
To throw away all of your chances to be happy because you did not succeed on the first attempt.

A new friend, a new love, a new life… never give up because life is indeed beautiful.

Saturday was my wedding day. What a glorious day! New Guy and I are so happy!

I was so afraid that the ex would pull something because he was desperately trying to find out the date of the wedding so he could "help the kids through this difficult transition." He eventually found out the date and I received a card in the mail from him on Thursday, congratulating us on our wedding, and describing all the things one needs to do to make marriage work. (Gee, he didn't list in there not having an online affair and abandoning your family.) I was so afraid he would pull one of his little stunts on the wedding date to try to ruin the day for me, but he didn't.

It was a wonderful day and I am so in love with my New Guy. My daughter was the maid of honor and my son was an usher. We all danced with happiness at the reception. (My poor blistered feet!) My family has grown to include many loving healthy siblings and three sweet, intelligent grown stepchildren. I have a new person to call "mom" in my life too.

My new husband is giving and loving, shares his emotions with me, and brings me more joy than I ever imagined. As I walked down the aisle, our eyes were riveted to each other and we had big goofy grins plastered on our faces.

After we said our vows I felt so different. I am now New Guy's wife. My ex's power over me seemed to fade away. I no longer have to be afraid that he might someday want to come back or that he will do something to drive New Guy away. I feel so free now.

Yay to life and new chances and new beginnings!
