I like fruits and veggies, and you know, I didn't think about it, but I'm not craving the "bad" stuff as much anymore. Yea, me! Now, don't get me wrong, I can't say no to a good french fry w/cheese sauce, but I'm not making that a daily staple!

Cutter -

Go run off those five beers for crying out loud! You must be sweating hops! Dance on any tables?

Don't forget...you need to actually save SOME of the wine for the auction! Can't drink it all as you go... whistle

Congrats on the continued 5K progress. Wish we were closer and I would go run one with you when you're ready!

Ok - love to hear how people do it. I am one of those that eats for comfort----and gained 10 lbs (on top of 30 too many) after H moved out. I've lost that 10 or maybe 12 lbs.....and have had mini successes----losing another 10, but keep gaining it back. I've recently started exercising faithfully - 6 days a week, but no luck on weight loss! I know I'm turning some fat into muscle, but seriously----I've been exercising like this for 8 weeks now. I stay "on the diet plan" all day, and then I get to the evening and lose control.....which I know is what has me stuck. Looking for the answer.......sounds like maybe you have it???

Just had this conversation at boot camp this morning! I will be rushed in the morning, not eat, work through the afternoon, then be so hungry I eat whatever I can find instead of taking time to make good choices... smile

Can'tBeTheEnd and BBJ -

I'm not sure how much you follow along w/the chaos of my life, BUT, I went to a Naturopath who did a blood analysis and found that my fats and proteins were not digesting properly, basically putting my body into starvation mode (not uncommon around OUR ages - well, maybe not you, BBJ!!) So, she put me on this detox tea, and some supplements (ChlorOxygen, Plant Enzymes, Omega 3, OilMax, etc...) and, at my follow-up appointment (one month later) I had lost over 10lbs, and my blood cells were moving freely, w/much improvement on some of the other stuff going on. I'm off of the detox tea now (thank God!!!), and am still losing chunks of weight about once or twice a week (2-3 lbs), but I really JUST started exercising (I walk sporadically, but not enough to make up for what naughty stuff I consume!).

I'm starting to feel a lot better, too. Not so tired and lethargic.

Also, just a note, I probably have about 15lbs to go to get to the point where people start to go, "That's enough weight loss..." If I can get there, and maintain a little above that, I'll be thrilled. The goal is summer. We live on water, and are on the boat all the time. It would be nice to be on the boat in some hot, new suits this year!!!

And, BBJ - When I xmas shop, I ALWAYS pay myself for the "work" w/a new blouse, shoes, etc... What's different about this? LoL

Yes---teenagers! Thanks for filling me in----and saving me some reading. I may have to look in to finding a Naturopath.....may be a little difficult in Missouri......but who knows??

CBTE,

hey, one thing to note, is depending on WHAT foods you've been eating, it can really cause you to crave more an more. start trying to eat as much raw foods as possible. the less process and sugary products you eat, the less you will want to crave them, after you've given your body time to adjust or wean. and the reason why you keep eating, is either psychological and/or your body is not getting the nutrients it needs so it keeps telling your brain, feed me!

I also heard Dr Oz talking about not eating after 8pm. perhaps make just 1 hour change to your night eating and keep trying to push that time earlier and earlier and see what happens.

also, a friend told me it's the 2nd month or later when you start noticing the weight loss. so not sure on that either. but I say, keep up what your doing! you want to be healthy and exercising is so important in staying healthy

Hey girl! Totally drink some of the wine, just leave a few bottles so you look legit... cool

I have been reading about your detox and the witches' brew....what I didn't know is, can you order that brew online or something, or get it at a store? Or do you have to book an appt with a naturopath?
