You get much, much better rates filing jointly. You always should file jointly if you can. Ask any tax guy.

In my case, we have $750 in tax credits coming from the new windows we put in before I moved out. I'd miss out on that.

We get a state tax deduction for our daughters' college accounts. We'd have to fight over who gets the deduction.

No. Better for me definitely to file together. Slightly better for her to file jointly.

Plus, she's never done it. I sent her a text this morning reminding her she needed to compile the daycare costs, the girls college accounts, find the folder with the window receipts and how much she gave in charity and to who.

She called and said she isn't going to get it done until tonight. My guess is that she didn't know any of this. She showed less than zero percent interest in tax ramifications over the years.

That was always my job.

Weird thought. I guess when the actual case is filed I should move over to Surviving the Big D. I've only been in this forum for six weeks.

I wonder if I'll pick up different followers and make new friends?

We should do lunch then. I work at the newspaper. My schedule is pretty flexible.

Body clock is all messed up. Woke up at 5:30 a.m. and can't get back to sleep. I'm going to get off this couch and head to the YMCA. I seriously hope I can get a nap in before tonight. I'm going to my first ball -- the Fur Ball for an animal rescue shelter.

It's expensive. $65 per ticket. But there was no way I was staying home tonight so I messaged a friend on FB and asked her what she was doing Saturday. She mentioned this ball and asked if I wanted to meet her there.

I said yes and ponied up the money. I guess 350 have bought tickets and I know about a dozen going so this is going to be fun. Now I'll need new shoes.

W and I talked about going to balls when we were much younger. She went to one through her work about five years ago and took D10. I didn't think anything of it.

When I'd ask she'd say it was too expensive and we always had money issues even though we both have good jobs. Eventually, I stopped asking.

I'm excited about tonight but a little worried because I look like hell. After getting good sleep Monday and Tuesday, I've gotten almost none Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Gee, what day did I get the letter from her L -- oh yeah, Wednesday.

Last note. I did see W briefly last night. She sent me a text that D10 needed her soldier costume for her play. She has a dress rehearsal today. So after my BB game -- another $45 for me, yes -- I swung home and picked it up.

Then I dropped it off at my old house. D7 was jumping up and down to see me -- she completed some cereal box puzzle -- and D10 came running to give me a hug.

W said thanks and I don't know what she said next because I was talking to D7. She did not give me any tax info so I don't know if I'll be working on the taxes Sunday. If I don't do them this weekend, I may not get to them for another two weeks.

It doesn't really bother me. I'm not facing financial deadlines.

Then I left and met two friends downtown to fill them in. Home by midnight.

Ugggghhhhh. I'm going to have to move again. Nutcase neighbor issued a noise complaint, saying kids are too loud when they are here.

This just kills me. She's a bartender so she's not here Friday or Saturday nights. That means the only nights she's here when they are is Wednesdays and every other Sunday.

Yet, she's now lodged five complaints in seven months.

I called the property manager and lit into her. She's aware that D7 is ADHD and I'd requested an end of the building townhouse so I'd only have to worry about one neighbor. They agreed and then at the last moment put me in the middle of a building with neighbors on each side.

She said when someone makes a complaint they have to issue a warning. So I made an official complaint for harassment.

Anyway, I called the owner of the house I looked to rent a month ago. It's not exactly what I want but I can grit my teeth for a year. He'd rented it though. I saw another one at the right price in an OK area. No dining room or basement. We'd really be cramped but at least they could be loud.

I filled out an App., but I'm already talking myself out of it. I may be looking for the impossible, but I really need a two bedroom with a basement.

I just need to have patience.

I can't imagine what the girls could be doing that is causing so much noise. Especially on school nights. What is the noise? Is it something you could curtail?

The night she knocked I was a little behind schedule. It was 8:30 p.m. and D10 already was upstairs -- she was sick. I was trying to get D7 upstairs to go to bed but she wanted to show me her running scissors kick. So she did it and it was cute. So she did it again. And pleaded with me to do one more. I said OK, but that's it.

So she did it again and was walking upstairs when the doorbell rang. It was the neighbor. She said, tell your girls to quit jumping around. I have my son upstairs and he can't sleep.

I just looked at her and said "you're serious?" And I closed the door.

We were on the middle floor. The kid's bedroom is upstairs. I couldn't believe it.

I called the property manager the next day and talked about it. He agreed that 8:30 p.m. isn't too late for the kids to be up running around. I thought I was in good shape.

Then I get this notice. I'm guessing it's from D7's meltdown last weekend. It was a bad one. I had to restrain her and send D10 upstairs, because she started getting upset. It lasted about 20 minutes and then she hugged me and was really upset with herself for saying such mean things.

I told it's over and I didn't take them personally.

Having an ADHD child teaches you patience.

The whole thing started because dinner was going to be done in two minutes and D7 wanted a snack. I said no because dinner will be done in two minutes and she went off.

I just got off the telephone with a Realtor who also owns a property management company. I've used him in a few stories. He's going to put the word out that I need a two bedroom house with basement in a particular school district.

If I have several people looking for me it should increase my chances. I just so want to get into a place where I can have the girls over and tell them they can make as much noise as they want.

Your neighbor is just horrible. I mean when I lived in my apartment, the next door neighbors were up at all hours of the night partying and nothing was done. It was so loud. The girls being loud one night a week and not that late should not be a problem. This is definitely not something you need to deal with right now. I mean i could understand if it was 10 at night, but at 8:30 or around dinner? Come on. Can't she remember what it is like to have children who cry when you don't want them to or get loud at 2 am. I can't stand parents who forget.

Good luck finding some place. If nothing else, maybe you can get an end town house or just away from crazy neighbor.
