It would be different if you did get a card. However, YOU should attach no significance to it if you decided too. With that being said, should you get a card...do not do the romantic "I love you so much, you complete me" type of card. Instead something funny and light.

I am not going to get my H a card or anything. The kids are giving him something. It has never been a huge deal for us, though we have usually exchanged small gifts or gone out to dinner and I don't want to make an issue of it at all this year.
Lost, I would assist your children in getting cards and/or a little something for your h. Nothing over the top.
As for you, I would purchase a card that had no mushy stuff on it and keep it in a drawer just in case he gets you one. You can't have any sentimental ties to the card or he will feel pressure.
It you want to hang out at home on Sunday, by all means do it. Why should you have to leave home just because it is Cupid's big day. If you can keep things light and simple, stay home.
