nikblondiew I went back and started reading your first thread, the first thing that caught my eye is that your H was going to address his drinking. I hope that happened. I will read more when I get home.

Just so ya know the book my quote is from is an Al-anon book. Are you familiar? If your H has a drinking problem you might want to check out a meeting.

Did your H ever seek help for his drinking?

He has been through treatment twice. Outpatient first and then inpatient this last time. He has been drinking again now so....I feel as though sobriety isn't possible.

I am so sorry...

Sobriety is possible. It took my BIL 20 years of denying the problem and trying to fix it himself before he sought help, but he has now been sober for 18 years. I am so proud of him.
