Wife called today(I didnt answer) to tell me that our divorce support group for children is canceled tomorrow night because of a pending snow storm. She said, "just wanted you to know so that you are not out driving around in the storm."

I'd say you need to push up that trip to FL for ASAP... then tell her that she needs to look after the kids for the next week. Tell her you're going on a trip and won't be able to see the kids during that time.
