I think the idea the person had was that he did not believe his wife, and the stories that he was hearing from her and the OM's wife did nt jive and kept changing, and he either wanted to hear one story so he could just believe and deal or as his wife was an excellent liar wanted to watch the OM's facial expressions as he was questioned to catch his wife in a lie and get her to admit, or he wanted to observe the body language/ connection between his wife and the OM to determine if there was an emotional connection between the two and that is was not "just sex" as he was being told, or maybe he got off being cuckolded and this was big time for him.
