Any guesses why I would get a 2 part text from H today telling me about a potential investment opportunity that he is going to check out----"will keep me posted."

Don't overthink it.

He didn't ask you to dinner or anything, its just an email of a possible thing he may or may not look at.

Thanks --- no over-thinking here. I have at least learned by now, that nothing makes sense, and I don't think anything he does "means" anything.

Was really kind of thinking what I should think legally----from a guy that is DONE and wants me to get a lawyer and is now talking about pulling money out of our account for "investment" purposes??

LOVE the new quote!

Did you retain a lawyer yet?

If not...

WHY NOT?

If you did. Take a minute to reach behind yourself and pat your back. Then ask the lawyer what to do...not us.

You are asking legaly advice from...non lawyers.

I'm smart DBing...and in MANY other areas ( smile ) but not about legal stuff.

You need to be smart enough to realize you need a lawyer.

Distastful? Yes.

You might not want to call or hirer a plumber, but you cannot complain when the bathroom starts flooding the kitchen.

I am still pulling all of the documents together. I should be able to ship them off, along with the $5000 retainer early next week. No, I am not going to sit with blinders on any longer.

I will add that I put my ring back on Wednesday. I put it on for me----as a reminder that I am still married, and as I go through this process to remind me of the many years and tears that I have invested in my marriage. If nothing else, I will use it as a reminder to myself that I deserve anything that I legally have a right to----as a means to protect myself, my kids and my future. If/when the papers are signed I may have to replace it with another piece of pretty jewelry..................

Good for you. On both accounts.

I spent the weekend with my kids in St. Louis for D16's softball tournament. H came for the two games on Saturday, so missed the 4 yesterday----including the championship game (D's team lost, but got 2nd place). Made the 4.5 hour drive there and back that day, so he could return to work. The atmosphere seems to just get colder and colder. I guess my emotional e-mails after his latest request for D are to blame. Each time the distance grows, each time things go colder, the pain re-emerges. I wish I knew how to make it stop.

I guess I asked for that.

However, it would be nice to know, in general, how to make the pain stop----when the e-mails stop, when communication is at zero----the pain is still there. Unfortunately, I can only think of one way to make it stop.
