Probably looks a look like me when I peruse Match! smile

Kerry, good thought, I definitely would prefer a guy who can work with his hands. And no that wasn't meant to be coy, I really can't imagine being with a guy who can't hang drywall or install a ceiling fan. Guess because my dad has always been handy, finished our basement by himself when I was a kid (only took him 10 years though doing it on weekends!) and Dan being capable on the farm and with construction stuff...

As for another farmer, not too sure. On one hand it is familiar and appealing. On the other, most farmers I know (Dan not being a true farmer) almost never take a vacation because there are chores to do, they spend the spring and summer planting day and night, the fall harvesting day and night, and late winter calving day and night. Notice a pattern? Not good for someone like me who appreciates quality time! It would really only work for me if I could be a part of it, ride along in the tractor sometimes, help with calving, etc. Watching calves being born the past few years has been amazing, I will miss it this year!

For some reason, teachers, coaches, and guys with military backgrounds tend to catch my eye on Match...

SO, last night Dan texted that he would take the kids tonight since I had them last Friday. Then he told me when he came and picked up the calendar that his bf Nathan invited little Nathan over to play with his boys tomorrow. I asked if Sydney was included or not. He said she 'could be'...

OK, since he will have them tonight and also tomorrow during the day, I am thinking I should tell him to keep them overnight and do something for me?

The last few times my mom took the kids overnight, I stayed up till 4-5 a.m. organizing and sorting.

This time I am thinking massage, possibly hotel, workout, sleep by myself in a comfy bed, not with coughing sweating kids! Seems kind of odd to me on one end as I would be spending money when it isn't even a special occasion, but it sounds really good...I can picture me in a comfy bed watching a movie and relaxing...

OK time for someone to tell me to get back to work!

I'm thinking that Friday night at Ace hardware might be where it's at. smile

BBJ, detachment is really hard. Heck, I've detached BIG TIME from Gabe but when he jokes with me about something in the brief conversations we have about Marc I will banter right back to him and then kick myself for 2 days afterward because it felt too good to be able to do that. It's going to take years most likely, but it will come. It took us all years to build the attachment to the point of M right? It can't be totally torn down in months or ever a couple of years.

Besides teachers, coaches, and guys with military backgrounds, Sandycay is on to something with firemen. Pretty much every town has a fire department.

Hot stone massage, I will see you @ 2:30!! smile

Been looking up Chicago hotels for our vacation this summer. Wanting a hotel near Grant Park/Field Museum to take the kids. Planning to go last of June/first of July. Found one directly across the street from Grant Park with a rooftop pool--fun!

Any Chicago people out there with recommendations for kid-friendly fun and hotels??

So far I have

Shedd Aquarium
Field Museum for the T Rex
Grant Park
Possibly Chicago Children's Museum
Navy Pier
Sears Tower

Thanks!

I need the prayers...

Just experienced the perfect storm.

Dan was coming to pick up kids. He told me he would dress them when he got here as he knew what they were doing for the day (playing w/best friend Nathan's kids on farm and possible cattle show)...

So he showed up and Nathan wasn't dressed and Dan tells him to go get dressed. Sits in a chair doing nothing... mad Stupid me went and got pants for Nathan and helped before I realized that was wrong...

Meanwhile Nathan had said it was a boys' day with no Sydney. So I told her maybe she could go to a birthday party (I have 14 cousins with children so there is ALWAYS a party, I just don't go to them!) instead. Well Dan got there and she is in a ballerina skirt and he says she is coming with them. She said she didn't want to and he got pissed...I explained what Nathan had said about being a boys' day. Anyway turned into a frustrating discussion about what Sydney should do and I told him I had plans (but not what they were) and would be pawning her off on my mom for the party if he didn't take her...ugh!

In the midst of this my mom calls me. I am literally putting Sydneys' socks on while she sits on Dan's lap. Mom starts asking what I am doing, what the kids are doing, where they are going, where I am going.

It just instantly aggravated me. I hate talking about Dan and the kids directly in front of them and she KNOWS that! I told her I was helping dress the kids cause Dan was there and she proceeds to repeat all the questions:

Oh, where are they going?
What are they doing?
Is Sydney going with them?
What are you going to do today?
You should go get your nails done, go tan, etc etc

I just said, "Right now I am getting the kids out the door, then I will do whatever I want".

She replies back "Well obviously you are crabby so I will let you go"....ugh again!

So then I am just livid at Dan for no apparent reason except he is just sitting there in my kitchen making himself at home while I do what I alwasy do.....GRRR!
