If you CHOOSE to spend day in and day out in your apartment that is up to you. What you should be doing if it comes to that is getting up, getting dressed in a professional way and be out of the house by 8am. Hit the library and spend several hours there working on your resume, searching job boards, fine tuning your resume and sending out contact e-mails. The computers at the library are free.

Take a lunch break just like you would if you were at a job. Use the afternoons to take meetings, attend seminars, find networking events, go to interviews and pound the pavement.

That is MUCH better than sitting at home. You know you don't handle being at home well so why even put yourself in that position when there are other ways to handle a stretch of unemployment. If you know what doesn't work why do it?
