There are actually some major fault lines in the Southeastern US. One of the biggest in the country (actually bigger than the San Andreas) runs through Kentucky and Tennessee.
I have been through so many earthquakes that unless they were over 4.5 I didn't feel them. I survived the 6.9 Northridge quake in '94....that was seriously ugly, but the others were just fun rock-n-roll times!
