I typed a huge update, and then poof...it was gone. Those of you who read this are in luck. This one will be much shorter.

Yesterday the kids had their first visit at Dad's apartment. D10 had a prior committment, so she didn't go. D12 didn't want to go since D10 didn't have to go, but I made them all go anyway.

H lives 35 miles away, so I agreed to drive the kids to his place and drop them off. My original plan was to avoid actually going in his apartment, because I thought I would feel uncomfortable. However, I needed to use the bathroomi, so I went inside.

As he showed me to the bathroom, I said his place was nice. I finished, said goodbye to the kids, and left.

As I was driving home, H called. He asked what time D10 would be finished. I said about 4. He asked if I would bring her back so he could spend a little time with her. He is about to leave for a week, so this would be all he got with her. I told him I didn't really want to drive out and back and then back again to pick the kids up. He said I could hang out at his house.

We arrive, and H is cooking dinner. He asked if I wanted some, but I said no. After they ate, the kids went outside to play with some kids they met. H went out on the balcony to check on them. He called me out there to watch the kids play. While I was out there, he showed me his washer and dryer and told me why he picked this apartment.

We went back in, and I noticed my key holder hanging on his wall. I laughed, and said...you took my key holder. He laughed, and said he needed it. I said...you have one key on it, why do you need a holder? We both laughed again.

I tried to shrink into the corner as much as possible, but H kept talking to me. I said...I am trying not to interrupt your parenting time, but you keep talking to me. He said...the kids are outside anyway, and you said we should be civil so I am.

He walks over and sits next to me and shows me the sketch for a new tattoo he is about to get. It was really nice, and I told him I liked it. He also showed me some pictures he had gotten at Ikea. He also showed me a few other household items he had gotten. At this point, I noticed a picture frame on the counter. It was mine, so I said I see you took my picture frame. I winked and said, didn't they have any at Ikea. He laughed again.
The picture frame was empty at my house, and still empty at his house, so I have no idea why he took it.

The kids came inside, and S5 sits down next to me. H goes and gets a chair. Yep, mine. He said he took it from the attic. He had a sheepish grin on his face. It was cute.

A lot more stuff happened, but I'll spare you.

It was a good visit for them, and I enjoyed laughing with him again.
