Oh, one other thing she is hiding money in hidden bank accounts and in cash around our house.

Sounds like a squirrel making a stash for winter. Like she is worried about the funds not being there later.

Anything in her past make this a big fear for her? Parents poor? Tight times?

Exactly the opposite!

I am partly to blame because she has been doing this our entire married life and I always felt that if it made her happy it was only money. And of course we were married so what did it matter?

Hey OP. You posted to my thread last week or so I think.

I would love your (and anyone else who has been dealing with a MLC) opinion on whether you think my W is in MLC or not. The more I read about it, the more she seems to fit the bill. Just, don't think there is OM, and she hasn't done any of the crazy spending habits. Everything else is pretty much MLC.

GIMA,

I have read your thread and the thought had crossed my mind that maybe she was. Like OP said, check out the resources and see if it might fit. You know her better than anyone . . . there are huge similarities between the MLCers but each individual and situation is different.

GIMA,

Listen to Pilot and Trusting.

You're in Newcomers right?

That a good place to start, you're also going to get alot of advice, some of it conflicts. Alot of it is going to be "Stand up for yourself, be a hardass."

Which is good and fine, right up until you start thinking your wife is in MLC. If your wife is in MLC then the game changes. Some of the advice applies some of it doesn't. Conflict and confrontation with a MLC spouse and they squirt away like you were trying to pick up mercury with tweezers.

Check out the resources at the top of the MLC forum like Pilot suggested. And like TF said, they have general commonalities, but all are indivdual and specific.

You will not get as many replies here, that's a fact, but they advice will be geared toward helping you deal with your wife's MLC. The advice in other places WILL conflict with MLC advice.

OK?

Ok guys. I will start a thread in MLC. I've been around here for a while, so I know the game fairly well.

My W filed for earlier this month, so I have zero hope she is coming back. Right now, I'm just trying to understand - and I may not ever b/c she may not know.

My D23 just came home from work I had fallen asleep on the couch. My W had come home while I was asleep and apparently she has been suspended from her job. We are in NC so I wonder if I should make contact or wait for her to say something. My gut says to stay NC.

Comments please.

I couldn't understand why there was a bottle of kahlua on the counter. Now it makes more sense.

Just snooped in her car she went to a L today. So this all must be my fault. I have been NC now for months and she just keeps falling further into depression. It is so sad. I must be the one that got her fired from her job. Got to blame someone, can't look in the mirror.

I need to listen to myself!!!!
