At this point, I would recommend talking about the issue with your wife again. I do not think putting all the blame on the mother is the best thing for the children. Whether or not it is fact does not mean it is best for all! I understand being upset by her actions, but laying her out for it isn't helping the situation.
I would take some time, cool off and then talk to the C again with wife. Perhaps she wanted to delay the talk because she is indecisive about it. Mainly the same way she was about the ring. There is a saying, You want to be right or do you want to be happy? Just some thoughts!
