I am CERTAINLY not trying to defend him, because that does no good in helping to move forward...
His tone, his stature, etc..., all suggested he was surprised by it, not unfeeling. However, he is NOT a sensitive guy at ALL, never has been. That WAS part of the attraction!
Sure, he could have handled things a bit differently, but, being w/him and hearing/seeing him, it truly was more of surprise than uncaring.
