Sheesh. How do you have weekends off on a deployment? And day shift!? That's f'ing cake! I want your job!

I just finished a 3 day drill of 24 hr ops. I will be catching up on sleep all week. Ugh.

We all have our ups and downs. You have to start cutting the down cycle short. Make it stop. Find something else to do. And ride it out.

It gets better. With time. Be patient with yourself and find small things to do each day that you enjoy.

Break the cycle.

Remember to just breathe. Life is good. Everything will be fine. It will all work out, you will survive it, and you will be stronger for it.

Well,

Today is another day!

Woke up, held formation, saluted the flag as reveille blasted in the background, and went on a nice run.

Slept pretty well last night, first time in a long time.

Today is going to be busy as well.

Have College classes to do, as well as give 100% to my Soldiers, and our mission.

Also, spoke w/S12, he really brightens my day! He is so full of life, and energy. I love it when he says "I love you daddy", and "I miss you daddy". Just makes me melt!

GIMA,

thanks. I am really working hard at this.

As you know, it is a struggle some days, but I am slowly learning to detach.

No contact with W since Thursday last week. She initiated-I didn't respond.

I am just atarting to FEEL better. Don't know how to explain it.

mindfull,

My boys are my life! S12 is coming into his own, and it is such a cool time for him. I hate that I am away, but, he knows that I will be home soon.

I just love that he still calls me daddy!

Don't even try. You can't. And with all the detachment steps we can - and must - take, those steps themselves don't even do it. They just set the stage, clear the clutter so it can just happen.
Ultimately, detachment happens.

Gardner,

Great advice-thanks. I also would like to add, that I feel that detachment is a process that we all must go through.

Either I wasn't ready for the process to begin, or I was still clinging to whatever it was I thought I needed to do.

Either way, today, I am feeling much better about the whole thing, and I believe I have taken a baby step towards my journey to full detachment.

Did you change your thought to a positive one? Probably. And that's why you FEEL better - b/c emotion will follow thought.

If you wait around to feel better, you won't. If you decide to think positively, your emotions will follow suit.

GIMA,

You know, I did. I spoke with someone last night, and got alot of things off my chest and out of my mind. I literally purged ALOT of pain I was carrying.

I got a womans point of view of me and my sitch, and that has helped me see alot of the good things I have going for me, and my sitch.

It is strange to feel this way, as I haven't in so long.

I just feel better about where I am right now, and where I am going.
