Hey Bobbi Jo..

I kept my married name not because it was 'his'. It's something I share with my family, my children. Kids I know call me Mrs. Gypsy or Mama Gypsy.. I just like that they feel a rapport. I swear, the female appellations are so ... silly. A Mr. can be anything from teenager to geezer, single or married. But a woman is labeled, single, married or I am who I am. I prefer the latter though I feel rankled when I see the Mrs., especially from my divorce attorney's firm. C'mon.. I have to tell them to get up to speed? I demand a refund!

I used and use MS. Since I have used 2 last names my entire married life I only went for Mrs so and so to make the explanation of my name easier. My first name has always been an issue and perhaps I made it harder on myself using 2 last names with no hyphen. However, I am who I am, the whole bundle, strange name and all. I have been this 2 last name, non-hyphenated person nearly as long as I had my maiden name alone and it doers connect me with my 4 bundles of joy.

I have contemplated changing my last name but only if I can change my first one too. smile
