H called tonight. His Dad died a few years back, and I knew him for about 10 years. He was in a war (no jokes kids, but I dont know which one! LoL) and survived the bombing of this ship, and only 50 servicemen survived. Anyways, H's family is not all that close (even though there are SIX kids), and this is the first year NO ONE got together (even w/me prodding them to have a family celebration). It was very sad for me for H, even though he claimed not to care.
So, anyways, I did the research online of the boat that his Dad was on, and survived, and put together a 100 pic collage of them boarding and blessing the ship, pics of them working aboard the ship, the bombing, the after affects, and some reunion pics of the survivors. I also found pics online of his Dad, named specifically. I also printed each of he pics, and put them in a photo album.
I sent the collage and photo albums to his two sisters and a brother. (only ones he talks to...). When I presented to H, he looked at it, but wasn't over the top excited to see it, but...
Tonight he called. His oldest sister called... in tears. LOVED it. Couldn't believe "we " found all of this.
All of a sudden he's interested in the gift I gave him/them!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr and Niiiiiice!

The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think.
Well, Mind, one thing I learned on these boards is that it is about doing "what is right" just because it is right, not based on the reaction of the other person.
That gift was beautiful, and the "right" thing to do from your heart. Focus on that rather than H's reaction/lack of reaction/delayed reaction etc.
Thanks, everyone! I'm crazy busy today. The 7th Grade bball team, and families are coming tonight! H wants to know why every piece of laundry has to be done and put away, too? Hmmmm... good question. That's just me, I guess! Every room tidy, everything put away, candles lit, ready to go!
HAVE A SAFE AND GOOD ONE EVERYONE!!

Gno re-adjusts his beach umbrella, takes a sip from his coconut, gets himself comfortable and chuckles as he pictures M panicking and barking out orders to everyone.
The party was a huge success! H and friends did most of the WORK, as I was a little run down by the time it started. We kicked the stragglers out around 2am.
What's up for 2010?
#1 - FOCUS ON HEALTH -- I need to fully recover from my heart procedure. -- I have an appointment w/a naturopath (highly recommended, and my H goes to her) to get a full evaluation of my overall health (don't worry, I have an Internal Medicine doc, as well). I'm convinced my metabolism has completely stopped. -- Walking/Boot Camp classes start TODAY!
#2 - FOCUS ON EMOTIONAL/MENTAL HEALTH -- Continue going to church services, even though family enjoys doing something w/my parents during that time. -- Focus on strength.
#3 - CATCH UP ON WORK -- My job has suffered (even though I made quota) terribly since Thanksgiving, due to pneumonia, the heart thing, etc... -- Be completely caught up by end of January. -- Attend our biggest trade show in Palm Springs this month (OH DARN!)
#4 - LOVING MY FAMILY... (always easy!!!)
I'll add more as I go.
