Ya' know, GIMA's post got me to thinkin'...I'm an ER nurse, and I give injections to (and start IV's on) kids every day. They're scared, and I tell them this...

"If you're afraid of something, that makes it hurt worse. So the best thing to do is to not be afraid of it in the first place."

I've been telling em' that for 23 years, and it mostly works.

It's just as applicable to us as it is to them!
