You go girl! so proud of you! First things first.... do tell about the shoes!
But, seriously, your attitude for starting the new year... if this was coming from Puppy I am sure you would get four whistles so, since that is his "thing" I'm giving you four smiles:
A conversation with my BIL helped to reinforce to me that I need to trust God and enjoy life. BIL is one of my rocks who periodically checks in with me. He is always positive and faithful to God despite his life's disappointments. He reminded me that I have much to be thankful for and that I should give thanks, enjoy my home and enjoy my life. He encouraged me to get out there and LIVE. He reminded me that I do not have to feel pressured to DO or to give into emotion.
I am gonna let God steer this ship. I have been guiding it towards some large rocks and I think it is best to let Him take over and give Him all the time he needs. Where he leads I am following. I don't want to make these huge choices and decisions without his guidance.
And in the meantime, it is PMA, SHOES and living life! This ranch is gonna be a fun place to be.
Kara, your thread is very inspirational. You sound like a very strong woman with a great head on your shoulders! Shoes really do make the world go round!
Thanks for the well wishes, and I like your ranch theme!!!
Now, we can add cowboys BOOTS to the mix, AND I think you need a cowboy hat!!!
I like your BIL. I'm going to find the lyrics to a song that a local grammy nominated Christian singer wrote, and post them later. I saw her this weekend at church, and ended up sobbing for an hour. Darn mascara!!!
I'll be back!

The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think.
Why howdee pardner. Thanks for stopping by. I see that it will take more than a little ole heart procedure to keep you from thinking about shoes! Cowboy boots? Hmm. Only if I can wear the hat!! ( I swear, the men on this site are going to think we are obssessed with shoes and fashion!)
Looking forward to reading those lyrics. I don't know about the crying thing, though.
I have my first appointment with an IC on Tuesday and I am making notes about all of the things I want to discuss. (I like to be prepared! I may do flow charts as well!) It is all part of my Getting Mentally Healthy programme for 2010. I just can't take the same knee jerk reactions into another year. I REFUSE TO,
So, as I said, ,my motto is I rise again in 2010. It rhymes (kinda) and everyone knows that that is the definitive requirement of a motto, right?
Today I am thanking God that I don't LOOK like what I have been through and that I have not lost my damned mind (some would debate this). Cause I felt close a couple of times there:)
Oh yeah, I am singing and dancing my way to church tonight. I thought about partying it up but I have come such a long way by the sheer grace of God that I gotta find myself in church.
I have NEVER been so happy to see the back of a year. 2009, you are OUT OF HERE!!!
We look forward with faith and hope. We are weaker but stronger than we ever imagined. We have survived and even thrived in very difficult circumstances. Iron has sharpened iron but we still retain our soft, human side. To emerge with grace and compassion but not bitterness is a challenge that many of us have met. It was not easy by any means. We are GOOD PEOPLE and WE ARE BLESSED. W
We have cried many rivers but we are ready to laugh. There are still challenges to come but we know and have proven that we can meet them. As Coach says, we can handle it!!! And we will because there is no alternative. And because it is what we do.
So to all my DB Friends, be blessed. I wish you a very happy, happy 2010.
I feel like I have just channeled the Rev Somebody or other. And I haven't even started drinking yet!!!
