LJ was quiet this weekend although he did have a little afternoon delight on friday. followed by some Christmas shopping with GF. Saturday was my mom's 69th bday. I had d9 all weekend of course and we hung out ...actually played hockey outside in the snow (ball hockey with boots ... no skates) . She is quite the llittle tomboy D9 is. Had a nice conversation with GF regarding her kids and plans for the 24th and 25th as well as the week between christmas and new year's where it appaears we may both be without children. So all in all nothing major to report...XW is very nice during our exchanges (when we exchange D9). D9 and i are attending our yearly hockey game (birthday present) and we are both looking forward to it.
Sounds like all is well in Johnworld! That is a good, good thing. I have decided that the fact that we all have less to 'report', means things are improving...
Oddly enough I referred to this site over the weekend as 'facebook for the divorced/divorcing'... I mean, a group of us who started at the same time, the majority of us have not busted our divorces, but we are still here mostly to chat with each other!

Well I pickup D9 after school and have her all the way through to the 26 or 27th (looking forward to it). I usually pick her up at school but XW asked me to pick her up at home because she has some ltlle gifts for me and my parents. That is very nice of her, I have to give her credit. in spite of the wrotten way she acted a few years ago, I can not really complain about her. So, I obviously did not get XW anything from D9 but I will ask her to pick something out for her and her two other daughters (I don't like receiving more than I give)...maybe on boxing day....we'll see. One thing is certain, there is no way that MIL will get anything!
That is great that you have an extended time with D9 and that XW and you are co-parenting well togetter. Isn't it wreally great how it all works out in the end. I also wreally like how you spell "wrotten" - I wreally think it should be a wrequirement that no words in English begin with Arrrh.
Ah yes, boxing day. I did not know of this holiday until I had taken a vacation during Christmas to New Zealand. Banks were closed the day after Christmas. I guess all the Commonwealth nations observe that day.
I guess the best gift you can get your former MIL is your love, respect and good grace towards her.
Well, I was reading a few threads including Mish's regarding contact and the time of the year.....
I just got off chatting with D9 (well more like talking plus webcam). There she was in my old kitchen, XW came on and chatted as well all cheery and I also noticed her boyfriend in the background. So....technology isn't all good I guess. This scene a while ago would have sent me into a rage for days but it is weird how time has a way of helping us cope.
So I may as well get off my posterior and head out into the sub zero "fresh" air.
By the way, that is the thing I resent still ... the fact that I need to be apart from D9...the rest, i am dealing with just fine. Actually i am glad i am no longer dealing with most of the other holiday stuff with XW and her disfunctional family.
