One thing that I think is hard during piecing is that our WAS may have chosen the M but that doesn't mean the issues that caused them to be a WAS are resolved yet. Which, during their "time as an alien" they conveniently found wasy to blame us for. So, although they may have "woken up" to some extent... it takes time. I am struggling with some similar issues. H is trying, but doesn't do much verbal affirming, which I am longing for so badly. It is one of my primary LL. It is a slow process....
So, I think you are doing the right thing to find ways to fill your own soul and heart.... I am trying to do that also. But, it's not easy! Hang in there, and make your birthday great for yourself!
