I'm enjoying Christmas by myself today, and I really am enjoying the day! Last night my family got together after church and had dinner, sang carols, read Luke 2, etc. just as we do each year. While it was different without my dad and my H, it was still good and I didn't cry once. Keeping my focus on my blessings, and all we have to be thankful for seems to be helping.

Today I got up early to go skiing. Since I was going solo this year (kids are with their dad today) I brought the dog along and we had a good time singing along to the radio on the way up and back. I didn't ski very long because it was very cold with the wind chill but it was great to take a short road trip to the snow covered mountains.

I'm going to see It's Complicated tonight with a friend. The review in the paper looks good, and the previews have been funny. I'll post later how it was.

So, I've enjoyed some old traditions with family, continued the tradition of skiing today w/out my H, and will try something new later with the movie. By staying focused on the present and not dwelling on the past, I feel comforted knowing that God is with each of us today and has a wonderful future in store... just around the bend.

Merry Christmas everybody!
