Hi Superfox who Deserves Better. I spent a few hours on Saturday reading these posts, and if you weren't in Iowa, I'd swear we were married to the same man! My H, soon to be XH, spent all Saturday shopping for groceries and then brought them to my house, then he cleaned the garage, etc. It reminded me of your new mudroom. My H also remembered what I want for Christmas for the first time ever, and of course, I didn't expect him to give me a present. But in between being nice to me, he's busy texting the OW. My family also said that he was kind of a dick and that they are really glad to have me back. He had just enough of a smug attitude to let me know he thought he was better than them (he's not!) but not have it be so glaring that it was too obvious. Its funny how a certain type of man wants you all to himself and then decides he wants someone else! Anyway, I don't know how I let myself get so erased. It took 7 months to get to detachment--I hope and pray that it sticks. At the moment, though, I'm really looking forward to giving him the boot!
I think you asked about a good dating/relationship book--I think it was your post. Best one I've read is "How to be an Adult in Relationships" by David Richo. That is a really, really good book. It helps you realize when its time to let go and move on...
Thanks for the book suggestion, I will have to check it out!
On the home front, the kids and I just finished frosting 3 dozen sugar cookies. What an undertaking! Took an hour and then 30 minutes to clean the sprinkles off the table and the floor. Why can't Christmas come when the weather is right for decorating on the picnic table outside??
We had rain all day today instead of the freezing stuff. Still are in a winter storm warning. Turning to ice as we speak, ice overnight and into the morning, followed by snow Thursday morning thru Friday afternoon. All told we are supposed to get 10-12 inches, on thop of the 12 incches we got 2 weeks ago that never melted!
Dan is supposed to take the kids to his sister's tomorrow night for Christmas Eve church. However it is an hour drive and with blizzard conditions who knows if that will happen. If not they may wind up with me for that and Christmas Day...I am fine with that of course. If not that is ok too. I figure I will make some soup and watch the Hangover before going to my own church...random but fun!
CA and I are still emailing. We went out a week and a half ago, haven't gone out again yet which is fine. We have emailed several times since then, roughly every other day. He just emailed a couple hours ago to say he made it to Chicago last night ahead of the storm. There was no email when I dated last (15 yrs ago!) so I don't know if there is some sort of rule of thumb. I just tend to wait a little while to reply so I don't look like I am hanging around waiting for him to email me. (Which I'm not, anyway...)
I just don't want this to turn into some sort of pen pal thing...but on the other hand it has been nice, we are getting to know each other and there has not been any inappropriate comments or overtures, so that part is a nice change of pace! Guess the 15 months of no hug/kiss/ML is getting to me... I am just ready to have a little affection here!
OK trying to think of any other news but not sure there is much else to tell. Kids are healthy and happy, knock on wood, I am doing well, too. Just wish I would hear back from the atty. Only 7 more days till 2010 and I don't have papers in my hand yet for Dan to sign!!
Well I don't know about church. The service Dan was going to in SIL's town was already canceled, haven't heard about our local church yet. It has been raining ice pellets for about 2 hours now, we should get that another few hours before it turns to snow. Predicting 10-14 inches by Friday afternoon, then blowing snow conditions thru Saturday...ugh! Good thing I stocked up on groceries!
Made omelets for the kids this morning, they are so excited for Santa to come! (Me too)
Hope all of you are having a safe, peaceful holiday. Remember to count our blessings and love the ones we're with!
Well after 18 inches of beautiful snow last weekend, we are supposed to get some sleet and then plain old cold rain for tomorrow and Saturday. :-( I'd rather have the snow! Merry Christmas.
