Thanks for the advice guys, it is hard to do these things, but I am going to give it my best shot.

I was thinking of texting/ringing her later to say that I will be moving in sooner than expected and I need a key ASAP. Also that I will offer her a 1 time only chance to meet in person beforehand and establish some ground rules. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

Just left an answer message saying I would like my key today and if I dont hear anything by 1pm them I will change the locks and she can get her key off me. I have had enough now, time to play hardball.

I am sure she will give me as little cooperation as possible, but its time to take control of the situation. I just hope I am strong enough to cope.

Ok had a text conversation about the key and we could not reach an agreement, so I called a locksmith. He said the locks could not be changed while there was a dispute, so I had to pay a £45 call out frown

My wife is renting a house 4 doors up from the marital home, which seems a little co-incidental. I am pretty sure she had this lined up already., and was planning on moving out and leaving me in the mire.I will be getting the key on Wednesday, but it is going through the solicitors (lawyers). I think I may have stolen her thunder and not given her the pleasure of her suprising me by moving out without me knowing.

Had a bit of an argument with the mother in law, who tried to run me down - but I stood up to her for once. Also had a bit of an argument with my wife who said 'I dont pay anthing towards kids' and 'fancy throwing the kids out before christmas'. I tried to stay calm and reitterated that she was leaving, not being thrown out. I also said 'splitting up was the best thing that has happened to me'.

Head is spinning at the moment, not sure if the above makes sense. Please tell me that i have done the right thing. I still want her back, but it seems that I am driving her away. I may have just got her to respect me a little after today, and shown her I have some backbone.

Forgot to mention that it looked like my wife has put on about 15lb, her hair was scruffy and generally looked a mess. Where as I on the other hand made sure I was wearing some smart gear, my hair was done and looked pretty damn good... smile

Steve: By me saying I am not innocent I dont mean there was an affair or suchlike. I have depression/anxiety which was a factor in the breakup. I only had this diagnosed afterwards, but it was definately present beforehand.

Refrain from those types of statements toward her. Don't convey any type of emotion around her.

That is your house so you should go back to it and fast.
