I did. I got a little bit more shopping done via the internet. Watched some movies with the kids. The girls kept wanting to go outside and go sledding but it was so cold they only lasted a couple of minutes before they rushed back in!

D11 said her gloves didn't work because her hands were so cold. Great way to try to explain about temperatures, wet snow etc. she just didn't want to hear it!

Back to the grind today!

I wish that my kid's father would show up. He proclaims they come first and yet puts them last just about everytime. S17 needs to get some money from his account that he has with his Dad. S17 was freaked out driving on the ice and snow so I took him to school. Ex mentions to me that he is picking up S14 from a school activity at 5. I make mention to him about the situation...S17 needs to pay for a college credit class he is taking if he wants to get credit. It is about half the regular cost. Somehow, taking him to the bank,is some huge problem for him.

It is so sad the kids had to lose their Dad in this.

Choices choices.

He's the one who has to live with them though.

Looks as if we do have more time to get the money to the University. It just bothers me that he keeps lying. Really what is the point? I guess he just keeps showing who he is now and that is not a loving father. So I get to keep being me and hopefully that makes up for it somewhat.

The lies. The mischaracterizations and obfuscations. The masks.

I don't know how we're supposed to handle it. These WAS's seem to live in their own world's where they can put on masks, tell lies about the situation to themselves, our children and everyone else -- and expect us to go right along with it. So much like the "Emperor's Clothing."

And sadly the World supports it.

But if we should not go along with it? Well, then we're branded as the bad guys.

<sigh>

Just continue to do what you know is right, Kat. Your ex is his own worst enemy.

Just one more thing to let me know that I am alive...S17 left his lights on and yep, the car is dead. He has to go to work and calls me. I tell him to call AAA, call work but maybe he can also call his Dad to see if he can help. (I pretty much ate up time being gone this week and my boss was already gone).

Sadly ex knows about zero when it comes to cars and has burnt out the engines on 4 cars but at least he does know how to jump start them. Oh but then he doesn't know something in regards to the battery and doesn't want to ruin his battery. His idea is to leave it. I have to say not a good idea as the school isn't in the best of neighborhoods. I am thinking I am going to have to wait until S17 gets off work to get this dealt with.

S17 calls me back and says that Dad is willing to meet me at the house, go with me to the car and wait for AAA and get it jump started and drive it home. I wasn't going to suggest that only because inconveniencing him is a huge pain. I almost forgot he also suggested that I just go and get it jump started and then when I pick up son at work come and get the car. See,I really am better off!

S17 needs to hit up some of his friends - and take a crash-course in car care, including how to change a tire, check the fluids, maybe even change the oil, etc. I learned all that before I was allowed to take the driver's test.

Blech - what a pain!

I know. I didn't think that far ahead. I did teach him to pump his gas, check the oil and where the windsheild wiper fluid and raditor fluids go and how to check them. I am leary of the tire part only because when I was changing a tire on my old car, the jack slipped and my hands were caught between the car and tire and no one was home to help redo the jack. My only option was to pull my hands out. My Dad keeps reminding me how lucky I was to not have lost any fingers and tells me "That is what AAA is for". smile

It just seems like everything goes wrong when it is cold or when it is raining. At least his Dad was in town and could help instead of working from home some 40 minutes away. Trust me though in no way does this equal ex taking S17 to work half the time. We are still talking maybe 5 times ex to 100(x2 for round trip)times Mom. But really, who is counting?? wink
