One lived in our backyard for a while, though it's been a while since I've seen it. It was always moving slowly when I saw it, but it gave the feeling that it could move faster! This one was about 15 inches long, maybe a bit longer. Really thick. I've got no idea what eats them... maybe hawks? Or vultures, after they die? Perhaps a coyote, though I think that might be an interesting batttle.
