I gave her the freedom she never really had. I took a long, hard look at myself and made a decision to change some aspects of my character that I didn't like (and neither did she). I told her I would like to reconcile once and didn't bring it up again; I let her go and worked on me. We had a lot of contact due to our children and grandson. SHE eventually started talking about US, and I let her take the lead and set the pace. After all, what else can we do?

I'm now enjoying the best relationship I've ever had with anyone, ever in my life. And I have the tools now to work to keep it that way.
