Don't be. I'm not. The one mistake I made in that short email to the three of them was to put as the subject line "Short Apology. No reply Necessary" Of course, they could have replied anyway.
But you know what? I'm a good, decent, though flawed man. I was an excellent, loving father to them for 17 years and treated their mother lovingly, respectfully and extremely affectionately for 18 years.
I am not taking this inevitable collateral damage personally. I am not making assumptions as to what they're thinking, saying, or being told. I will be fine. And they will be back.
