Wed Night: I usually avoid the grocery store the day before tx but there was no choice. I did however get a little help; the kids were really into cooking so they helped me find things around the store (usually it's just a lot of whining and begging). Later that night we cooked up a pie. They peeled and cut apples.

Thursday: Woke up to a FB message from a friend smile. Spent the day playing game with kids, took a short ride on the bike trainer, then started a yam dish. (Oldest says she likes yams Yay! Something other than chicken nuggets). Mid-afternoon we took the turkey and goodies out of the oven and drove over to the she's house.

Yes, I know...I debated this a lot and I got invites to other homes but I decided it was best to put it all aside so we could both spend the day with kids. It went well. I was just happy for the kids. She thanked me for being there. We each went around the table and told what we were thankful for. The kids were...well...kids during dinner but between the pig noises it was a nice dinner.

We had some good convo before and after dinner.

BFF: She never heard from her again but was more hurt that she never said a proper goodbye to the kids. Youngest is angry at BFF.

Money: It's tough for both of us.

Extended family: Some good and bad. Some recovering and some ill.

Health: She had an abnormal test and needs a follow up. Uh oh. She's in my thoughts.

Little stuff: She got all the lights on the house. Good job! There was a bouquet of roses on the side table (from a special someone maybe) but it really didn't bother me. I'm thankful for all I have in my life.

So then we watched the annual Christmas Vacation video; got sleepy; and then I took the kids home. It was a good day.

__

I have to work today so the she is going to take then to a movie or something this afternoon and to the Nutcracker on Sunday. Oldest has been in the production the last three years but is sitting this one out. I'm going to sit this one out too and do some things with friends.

Hope it went well for all of you.

Sounds like a good day for you all.

Alaska?

Are you a hunter and a fisherman?

I used to do a lot of fly fishing but not much now. I don't hunt. I just go outside and play a lot.

kids did all sorts of fun stuff while I was at work. Later I went to basketball game with kids, coworker and friends.

Ugh...I'm tired today. It's been busy the last few days. The kids wanted to watch a movie with Pauly Shore; funny but stupid. There's a bunch of noisy trucks outside clearing snow and so now I feel irritated. I feel tired, stupid, and irritated. I need to shut the computer off and go to bed.

Busy is good! You may be tired and irritated, but you are not stupid. I am a hunter myself. Used to hunt lots of big game, but then I got bitten by the waterfowling bug! And I play a lot outside too. I started Christmas shopping for the kids. Have you? Are you close to a 'town' where you can shop for them? There is a lot of good hiking and climbing in Alaska! Lots of outdoor stuff, I'd imagine.

Hang in there O'dog. Become the strongest person you can possibly be...mentally, physically, and spiritually. This is a noble aspiration for us all.

Yes, I was just having a fun at my own expense.

I haven't started shopping yet. I live in downtown in a town of 280k (450k in the region if you include palin's home town) so there are plenty of shopping options. Got all the big box stores: best buy, sprawl mart, target, borders, b&noble, home despot, kohls, old navy. A few upscale retailers like coach and nordstom too.

Other little known facts: highest per capita # registered motorcycle drivers, highest per capita of coffee carts (take that seattle), 1 in 5 vehicles is a subaru (seems like the rest are trucks), largest population of urban moose.

Anyway you'd probably like it here. Lots of outdoor play.

I didn't think there were 450K people in the whole state!

Yeah, I think I'd like it there too...just to visit on vacation, etc.. I'd be interested in Alaska-Yukon moose, maybe black bear, mountain goat, and all the sheep! And I'd love to fish up there, not to mention hiking, camping, and climbing.

Watch yer' topknot!
