I've seen people on this board say that they heard this from their spouse so many times I want to scream.

Why don't we call it "I love you (you supported me, was there for me emotionally, physically, held me when I cried myself to sleep because my grandmother died or my family is dysfunctional, were understanding, caring, patient, paid the house payment while I spent my money on whatever - but now I'm suddenly not in love with you."
How do you go from being in love with someone...wanting to spend every moment with them, making them promise you won't become the married couple who never talks, never sleeps together...to being just the opposite of that. Then when that happens not even wanting to fix it, just throw it all away.
