Mindfull!!! Fellow GK mom! Woot woot! We will have to talk. My son plays rec and acad. right now and they will prob. go select in another year. Everybody tells me S is REALLY good and I am constantly getting cards from select coaches at tournaments and games.
Uh, yeah, I was a LITTLE nervous for the shootout. It was his first one ever and for the championship. All the parents just looked at me. LOL I barely had a voice left today after all the cheering last night. : ) We do baseball and basketball too, so yeah, my schedule is a little CRAZY.

SoCo - I read through this thread today. How are you so grounded and fun, dealing with all of this? You're fairly young, too! Sheesh! Good job! Your H needs to be smacked, btw...
I see you have a D4. God help you!! I have a secret... they grow up to become D18's!!! Yikes! Keep her young!!! Either that or have some duct tape permanently glued over her mouth!! God makes them that cute for a reason!
Can't believe they have a shootout at your s's age... Was it because it was a tournament? They would only do them in tournaments here. League games only do shootouts, starting in the higher brackets at U13. My S12 son is being evaluated on Saturday for the US Soccer National Team. He's really good, but more reliable than stellar. I understand the nomination for evaluation, but we'll see... LOTS of competition in IL!! He's only slightly interested since he's knee deep into basketball season right now.
Glad I found you! I like to surround myself w/fellow crazies!

Mindfull, I'm glad you found me too! I don't know any fellow crazies... just the other sports moms none of which obviously are GK moms. They did a shootout b/c it was for the city championship at the end of the season. They did two 10 min overtimes and it was still tied, so shootout. That is awesome about your son and the ODP! Our soccer coaches daughter is in the program and she is awesome! Good luck to him!
Well, about the exH, I'm not sure how I deal with him, I just tread through it. I love my job and my kids and all my kids activities so I think half of it is staying busy and involved.
Please KIT! So cool to meet you. Are you on the alt?
Oh.... and thanks for calling me young... lol

Oh, and the D4, she is as cute as can be and SMART, but God help me already. Sassy 'tude and drama queen... Sometimes it's all my S and I can do to just sit there and shake our heads... LOL

Okay. Well, was up most of the night last night with d4 crying and saying her ear hurt. She has been congested, so prob an ear infection. Going to have to rush and take her to the dr. when I get off work, before they go with their dad tonight. I know he won't bother to take her, and I'm sure has no money for that.... I just hope he can be responsible enough to give her her medicine after I get it. Ugggggg.

Good luck. I feel for D4. Surely he would give her the medicine. I can't imagine him letting his little girl just be in pain.
