Any leftover halibut? I might stop by if you do.

The boring classes still give you some options. It sounds like a tough decision to make so take your time, look deep, and make sure the road you take best suits who you want to be in the next years. May you have clarity.

Enough heavy talk. I'm ready for this cold snap to be over. This little old house with the monster furnace is going to cost me a bundle next month. I'm scared to open the bill.

I mixed it with mayo- Alaskan tuna fish sandwich makins! Some people might think thats a sin, but I actually found a whole bunch of fish in the bottom of my freezer when I cleaned it out. Some really old king crab too that I am not going to eat!

The classes that Im taking really wont be so bad, and its all required, so its one step closer to being done. I am minoring in biology and there are some great bio classes being offered, but I dont need anymore classes for that. Too bad because they are offering genetics, but it interferes with my statistics for psych... I hate statistics, but would love to take the genetics! ho hum.

I wish I had a furnace! I have started to keep my heat super low, 56 at night and 62 during the day. I am trying to save propane because Im afraid of the bill too! As long as I dress warmly its not so bad! I have a monitor out in the living room in the front of the house, so the front of the house is 60-something and the back of the house is freezing! I hate my monitor.

I just redid my federal student loan application and applying as seperated, not counting H's income, makes me eligible for all kinds of grants! I would love to get grants instead of loans, this is great news!

You're heating with propane?!? Ugh. You're a tough girl to live thru that.

Recipe doesn't surprise me. Alaskans get uh...creative with halibut . MIL has a ritz cracker breading for halibut; sounds disgusting but it's tasty.

Cool getting those grants. The fewer student loans the better.

I always thought you were studying biology. Are you majoring in psychology?

Stay warm.

I am majoring in psych. Im over halfway done with it. I chose the psych because Homer mostly doesnt offer a bio degree. Its interesting, and Im doing well, but its not my passion. So if I end up moving to the city I could actually major in something that Im interested in!

The original plan was to do psych as a pre-med degree, and go into womens reproductive health. But since I have been involved with FWS, I have found out that I could be really happy working with wildlife. And the work makes me feel really good. I still know that medicine would be very fulfilling for me. But after everything with my M, I feel like Im a little less focused than I used to be. Not any less driven, but maybe a little less decisive!

And I hate propane! Dont be fooled though, Im not that tough, I complain about it constantly!

Sometime I will have to introduce you to my friend Dana. He's a marine mammal biologist with the fed gov. I don't know know too many more professional details than that but he's got great stories and photos. He could probably give you some insight into what the career is like.

He's also very inspirational. I know him thru the tri club. While his age group is "more advanced", he's one of the "youngest" guys I know. He has a sand volleyball court in his backyard and a house in So Cal that he keeps so he surf on his time off.

Just occurred to me there was a slight chance my message could be read differently. This would be a professional meeting, not a set-up (he's very much attached to his sweetie).

Anyway, I'll keep my ears open for any other people in the field. I know of a woman in the club who does impact studies for a big oil company but I don't know her well enough yet to call her up.

lol Odog, no worries! Im just getting ready to head to work. I have about 30 min of driving each way, for 4 hours of work... hardly seems worth it! Just starting to spit snow, I would sooo rather be in bed watching movies!

Maybe my motivation is slipping just a little today smile

Hey, I hope you're outside enjoying yourself today. It's "warm" out there. Maybe the cold snap is over.

24 Odog, its definately "warmer"! I just got off work a little while ago, and have a big paper due tomorrow night, so I really need to get crackin on that! No playing outside for me today!

I have 5 tattoos, a big celtic knotwork one on my lower back, and some pretty pinstrip-ey stuff on my right shoulder and arm, a frog on my right foot, plumerias around the top of my left foot, and a little peace sign on my ankle- that is the only one that I dont love! And a blue dot on my leg where a pen I had in my pocket stabbed me. I havent gotten a new one for about 6 years, maybe when my D is over that would be a good celebratory thing to do!

Ok, borderline personality disorder, ugh, I hate writing assignments!
