Depends on the person. In my case, my H takes every b!tchslap from Karma as an excuse to wallow in self-pity, of the 'doesn't-my-life-suck-God-sure-hates-me' variety...
hey LOLA..on the dating front if I may...I will suggest the same as i did BBJ...quick 15 minute coffee. None of those things are acceptable...tongue or come over to my place. But on the positive side, perhaps you can take both those as a compliment... I heard similar stories from some of the ladies that I "dated"..however, don't let one bad experience get you down. If your heart is not really in it than stay at home with your daughter, there is no rush.

As for stbx, I still find it rather amusing that he thought he was going to be sooooooooooo happy and fulfilled with me out of the picture, and now he seems to be digging that hole deeper and deeper. Wonder what it might take for him to bottom out. Wonder, but not obsessively

Well...let's see. First he said it was because of the bankruptcy, and I asked him if he wanted me to ask about that because I think it is illegal to fire someone because of financial status. So then he came clean and said one of his co-workers filed a complaint against him for theft because he refused to remove children from their homes. (Remember he is CPS investigator).
Now, I don't think stbx stole anything, but I could see him pissing someone off enough to try to get him fired. Apparently child protective services is reconducting a background check on him now.
He sent me the opening text about the waiver, but I get the impression that was an excuse to lead into this when he asked me if I had a copy of the bankruptcy petition that I could send him. Okay, I am not so ticked at him anymore so I will send a copy, no biggie, but curiosity got the best of me and I had to ask.

It wasn't a coworker, it was someone he was investigating. It sounds like he removed someone's kids, and of course they got ticked...and said he stole from them.
Bunch of text messages. Mostly initiated by me, but it is the most normal semi-conversation we have had in seven months. Of course, as long as the conversation is about him...but he did congratulate me on the new job.
Oh yeah, I started the new job yesterday. It feels good to be earning more money, have benefits, and the people here are really very nice.
