You will be ready, when you are ready. I got on a service, talked with a guy for a few weeks, he asked me out, I was excited, then I realized I was terrified and not ready.
Waited a few months, and now I know I want to go out. But I reserve the right to change my mind (again!).
Just do what you want and don't worry about your friends. (Now I sound like your mom...)
