Heck.. it's me and Gardener going to see a show his son is in.. which falls into the category of being able to hang out with a member of the opposite sex, have fun, chitchat and shoot the breeze.
Well.. I did it. I made it to the audition after being determined to skip it. I went later in the day, had the lyrics printed out, cajoled my daughter to lend me her Nano and upload the song so I could practice.
Well.. Well.. Well...
I saw my friend, my partner in crime when it comes to auditioning for shows. She was ahead of me. I fidgeted alternately rereading the lyrics and reviewing lines they wanted us to read. When it came time I went on stage, hearing how loud my kitten heels echoed as I walked. The director cued up the music he had and I started singing, doing pretty well, getting into the lyrics. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the CD I used was absolutely different than the one the director had. His version was a LOT slower. However, that did not slow down MY adrenaline. I just tried my best and had a blast as I warbled, gargled, trembled on stage. I kinda felt like a bowl of jello filled with cooked spaghetti.. but it was great.
Good for you on the dating thing. That's kind of what I want too. No, not a date with gardner, but just a friends time. I don't want to click thru a dating site to select 100 best qualities for the next potential mrs odog, I just want to hang out.

This morning I'm going to audition for a musical. Last weekend I decided I wasn't going to learn the song and not audition, that I couldn't do. Last night I asked my daughter if I should audition even if I didn't know the lyrics and might have to be holding a piece of paper. "Yep, just for the experience, Mom."
Great! Another audition. Good for you. I admire you for that!

Oh, alright, John210 and KerryK (Jeez!)
Hey, Kathleen, As you know, my son is starring in the musical City Of Angels in Danbury next week. And I was, um, er, y'know, kinda wondering if, y'know, you'd like to go, um, see it with me, kinda like, y'know, a date or sumpthin', y'know?
I could, like pick you up at your house and we could like, y'know, have some time to talk 'n stuff on the way there and back, y'know?
Or, if you'd prefer, of course, we could sorta meet there and stuff. Maybe go out for a burger and a malt after the show, y'know?
And if I do pick you up and drive us an' talk an' stuff, maybe we could stop back at my house in Wilton on the way home and, well, would you like to see my etchings an' stuff? Whaddaya say, huh?
We could go, like, Friday, the 20th at 8:00 or, y'know, like Saturday, the 21st at 8:00.
Pick a date, and I'll like call ya early next week and you can let me know, okay?
Cool. Gardener, Aka as, um, er, Bill. (not Liam!) _________________________
