They left. I had a good ten-minute cry amidst the new(er) emptiness of the house (ah, the piano, where every Thanksgiving and Christmas for 17 years, my nephew would play, my son would sing - great voice, he's starring in a regional musical this month - and we would all listen to them).
I'll betcha a drum set would fit PERFECTLY where that piano was! And do you have a dog? Might be time to get one, Gardener! These are two good pages out of Coach's survival book

Thanks. I remember both the dog and the drums from Coach's "Film Study-What Worked" (Hmmm. I used to play the drums....)
Best Cat comment I've heard in a while: "I've known several Zen Masters in my life. All of them cats." Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now
Best Dog cartoon (The New Yorker, probably): Man sitting in his easy chair, glancing at his watch: "Gee, I wonder what time it is?" Dog sitting next to him looking up at him, tongue out, tail wagging (thought balloon):, "Now. Now. Now. Now. Now. Now."
Those two just sum up the different/same essences of dogs and cats!
Gardener
"My soul, be satisfied with flowers, With fruit, with weeds even; but gather them In the one garden you may call your own." Cyrano deBergerac
Also, definition of both a dog and a good friend:, "Someone who is happy to see you and has no plans for your immediate improvement."
Anyway, I'm not going to Man-Cave it too much. It is on the market. And I'm working my fanny off today as there are two showings tomorrow morning.
I did Zen up the bedroom, though. Took much off the walls, removed furniture, removed w-w carpeting & had hardwood floors refinished. Many candles. Easy chair, meditating pillow, New earth-tone color paints. My Sacred, Zen Fortress of Solitude (Solace-tude?).
The solitude part sucks at times, though as we all know.

So begin daydreaming about what your new man-cave will be like. Once this place sells, where would you like to live? Get picky. You have the luxury now of living in a place that is suited to You...and your new dog.

Sounds awesome! Don't forget the Nugent posters tho!

Saw this quote the other day:
"The difference between loneliness and solitude is how you feel about the person you are with"
I am finding that I am enjoying being alone sometimes - solitude.
I'm with you there, thinker. I've said often that I've gotten used to living without STBXW. Later on I told a couple of friends that I kinda prefer it now, actually. When my S, DIL & GS moved out last month, I felt, "Damn! It's good to be alone right now."
