Yep. They do whatever they need to do to justify their actions.

Update. Bad couple of hours, but the day will be Fine. STBXW and Best-SIL-In-The-World came over w/moving truck and took the rest of everything hers: piano, pictures, some furniture, boxes & stuff. STBXW was gone mostly - had to go to new apt to meet cable guy. SIL & I chatted I thanked her for confidentially letting me vent via email the last couple of days.
STBXW came back to supervise the rest. Once again, with witnesses, the cold dead eyes and disdainful expression was absent.

They left. I had a good ten-minute cry amidst the new(er) emptiness of the house (ah, the piano, where every Thanksgiving and Christmas for 17 years, my nephew would play, my son would sing - great voice, he's starring in a regional musical this month - and we would all listen to them).

Then the christmas decoration boxes, with stepson's 3rd grade macaroni and silver painted star. Every Christmas Eve it was the last decoration to go up. He would put it up (he's 6'4") and every year as he did it I would say,

"Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
StepS, hang the brightest star atop the highest bough!"

I will miss that this year. They will, too, I'm sure. cry frown

But it will be okay. Hey, I've got buckets of wonderful memories!

I'm okay, now. Really.
Got a great day ahead of me! And I have no plans and don't know what it has in store for me. smile

Nothing wrong with getting the emotions out.

Keep your head up - sounds like you are. And enjoy the rest of the day.

Releasing emotions is GOOD and HEALTHY. Releasing them at the appropriate time is also important.

I wish you well.

I'll betcha a drum set would fit PERFECTLY where that piano was! And do you have a dog? Might be time to get one, Gardener! These are two good pages out of Coach's survival book smile

Cheers~~~ To your NEW life!

Love the dog idea. I have 2. And the great thing about a dog is they NEVER disagree with you. At least, mine hasn't yet.

Dogs love unconditionally, don't hold grudges, always greet you like a rock star and never smirk.
