Plans to move sound good. And you're doing it in a nice, thoughtful way. I think with all the stress us DBers are under, slow and thoughtful is the way to go.

Hope you're having a good week. smile

Ive been looking at places up there, and if I can get a decent job, I think that I can make it, and I have in writing from STBXH that he will give me $500 a month for alimony for 6 months. Its funny, I didnt really want the money when I told him that, I just wanted him to pay somehow, but now I do want the $. Its a little tough finding a place that will take my 125lb dog! But Im def. not going without him. I dont expect my other dog to be around much longer. frown Shes a mean old lady anyway, I couldnt live close to other people with her crazy a$$. And with as sickly as shes been, it would be cruel to put her through a move.

I am having a good week, working and school seem to make the week stretch on forever! But its good, Im so far able to still find time to study, socialize and work out. I dont know how you people with kids do it!

I grew up in Ketchikan. I love it there, I still have a brother and a lot of friends there. But, the OW lives there too, its maybe about the size of Eagle River, maybe, so its likely that I might run into her. So I guess that I wont be going back anytime soon.

I love my house, and I want to stay in possession of it, but I think that Im done living here. Its in a great location, nice fenced yard, close to the schools, and what constitutes "Town" as far as small town Alaska goes, so I really think that renting out it will be no problem.

I wasnt thinking "really", I was thinking "lame!" But that was just knee jerk. I would like to go to Nome!

Freezing rain tonight. Gotta love how the weather gets all psycho when its trying to change seasons! It makes for a long drive home.

I think that tonight is a night for turning in early in my nice warm bed with some crap TV!

Funny comments about the "mean old lady". They get like that when they're old. My woof is kind and plays well with the kids but I can tell she's going to be a real piece of work when she's old. She's already very particular about her dog bed and possessions.

If you ever need help up here in the big town let me know.

Shes a purebred English Mastiff. Beautiful, but has been insane her entire life. Shes also been sort of a lemon, shes only 6. I think that I paid about $1600 for her, and I really dont think that Ill ever get a purebred dog again. Ok, so maybe a middle-sized poodle with blonde hair the same color as mine, Ive seen them, and they are adorable! But thats it.

My other dog is the best dog that I have ever known. Hes great with other dogs, and kids. Hes about 125lbs, and the biggest teddy bear ever. Im not really sure what I did differently. But its another thing in favor of mutts as far as Im concerned!

I really hope to get up there some time before next fall ideally! I just applied for a job up there that ties in pretty closley to what Im doing now. I really had to question if I should or not, after only being at my job for a week. But I made sure to mention on my cover letter that it was only part time, and my boss is aware that I am still looking for full time work.

Oh, its good, thanks odog. I think that not having days off is starting to get to me a little. I need to go to Kenai, and I just dont have time! So Im just trying to take it easy. Snowed like crazy here today, but by the afternoon it was almost all gone.

I got my official invitation to the National Marine Mammal Stranding Network Conference. I think that FWS is paying for it, so thats super exciting, april will be a good time to go to Va, not too hot! Now I have to decide what Im going to talk about.

This daylight savings time is tiring! Sunrise is at 9, and sun set is at 5! Is 8 o'clock too early to go to bed?!

I know that a few posts ago I mentioned how I thought that this new job might be a doorway to what used to be my dream job. Well, last week I saw that one of these companies is hiring, so I went out on a limb and sumbitted my resume... well, today they called me inviting me to interview!!! I am so excited, I have an ear-to-ear grin! I would be making about twice what I am now, and there are all the benefits that you could ask for, including a company car and phone! I know that its just an interview and who knows what will come from it, but still! I really like the idea of getting my name on their radar, even if I dont get this particular job.

I would have to move to the city, with really short notice, and thats intimidating, but being finally financially independent from STBXH would be totally worth it!

That is so great!!! Believe me, it's an honor nowadays to get an interview!!! And the great thing is you already have a job, so you have extra confidence from that. I think they always want to hire people that have jobs already, b/c they figure if you don't maybe there's something wrong?

Thanks for the website!!! It's awesome. I searched my area and yours, mine had 20 jobs listed, and yours 162!!! (within 50 miles)--are there really that many jobs in your area??? I'm going to check them out now-and look for the one you mentioned to. What is your area like?
