As for the girlfriend, sounds to me like someone else has been calling her stupid along the way. It makes me think her family isn't too keen on her actions and remarks. At that age, plenty of them are very smart mouthed and know it all. You are doing the wise thing...sit back quietly and watch. Your son will eventually get tired of the young lady.
