He does unfortunately know me and that is why he left. I really don't blame him anymore. Heck, I'd leave me if I could!
Oh crap....spinning in the toilet bowl again. My only excuse is this darned flu that is going to kill me. I have no voice which makes it pretty impossible to do my work since both jobs require me talk all day.
I croaked my way through my full-time job yesterday with every client telling me to go home and go to bed. Yeah, like that can happen! Then I went to my part time at the grocery and told them there was no way I should be breathing all over people's food. They agreed and sent me out into the store to straighten it up. After about 2 hours of doing that I pulled something in my lower back and virtually crawled the next two hours. Still hurts.
I think I'm completely coming apart here people. I can't call out because I need the money but not calling out is probably going to make things worse. WTH????????
Oh well....such is life......never say thigs can't get any worse...they always do. I give up.

Call in sick a day. Just give yourself a day to get back on your feet. You need a day of rest, sleep, and soup. I know you're worried about the money stuff, but your health has to come first or you won't be around to make any money!
Seriously, take care of yourself. The rest will work out somehow.

I've had to call in so much in the last few weeks because of my mom that I'm afraid to do it even one more time. I need that job, but it's going to kill me. Maybe it's just not worth it. I just don't know.
I had to text Gabe today to ask him if he was going to pay half of Marc's black belt test fee. It's $100 and there is no way I can come up with that all on my own on top of monthly expenses. Amazingly enough he said he would! Miracle!
Yeah, I think I'm going to have to call in. Gosh, I hate to do that again. I'm just too sick to do that again tonight.

There are lots of people sick. It's the season for it. If they start firing people for calling in sick (which is totally illegal) they're going to be severely short staffed.
Just take care of you. The rest will follow.

Actually, it's not illegal. Excessive absence is reason for termination regardless of the situation. I forget what the term in GA...right to work state I think it what they call it. Weird stuff.

Well, kinda. They can't fire you for a medical reason though...that's discriminatory. But you're right that most states are "at will" employment. Which means either employer or employee can terminate employment at will.
There are some limitations though.
They could fire you if you were calling in sick all the time when you weren't sick. But firing you for excessive absence when you are really sick puts them at risk of a lawsuit and doesn't look good for the company.

True. It probably wouldn't look very good for them. Especially since they have been on the top 10 employers in employee satisfaction for 10 years straight now. That could put a damper on things.
