Well my top jewellery and options are selected, my boots polished, my face exfoliated and my manicure half done.
Wish us luck tomorrow! Good thing my SIL has been doing hair for over 20 years and is a damn fine colourist already! Let's hope she's good under pressure!
It sounds like you are having the best time at the moment. Whenever I read your posts it's all the little inconsequential bits about what time you got up or what you're having for dinner that make me so envious of your sitch. I think we are roughly same age (42?) and like you I had no kids (by choice) til 38. While I am totally happy about the decision to go for it I can't help having twinges of what the "old life" could be like. Especially when I read your posts - LOL!
You're and inspiration to us all
take care

Close, Fran, I hit the big 40 this year. Cannot even IMAGINE kids at this point (not that I ever could), but I'm happy for you!!!
Well the big hair day was FUN!!! SIL did a great job, although my hair came out much darker than I'd envisioned. I think she either forgot the fourth colour (gold) or it just didn't have time to process.
Funny thing is I just LOVE it!!! I'd been going darker of late anyway.
There were ten stylists competing and first prize was taken by a fellow I had a crush on in 8th grade. He was already washing hair in his uncle's salon at that time (Italian...did you guess???)
But CJ's Neice and the second stylist, J, fro SIL's shop took 2nd and 3rd!!! I was SOOOO happy for them. They did some really neat funky colours on shorter hair.
I can't believe how tense I was when it came time for the judging....last thing SIL says is "Don't move, don't cross your legs, don't smile and don't look them in the eye."
I didn't know WHAT to do...think had had that fake quavery half smile going the whole time...sweaty palms...toooo funny when you know that I stand and lecture in front of over 700 people every day!!!
Of course SIL styled my hair NOT how I would have. Bangs way off to the side and slick and sticky with product...ends flipped up (I like it flat and straight)...she did do a really cool weave through the top. WAAAAY too much product all over...really crunchy.
But as usual I've already washed and re-styled it for class tomorrow.
CJ's working on another assignment...no idea what's up for dinner...probably take-out.
I love the fact that you two are working together on home improvements! My H started doing yard work and building planters out of driftwood for the driveway when he first started coming back around to wanting the marriage. It was a sort of "domestic" sign that he was giving me. He also bought a small freezer for our family room, so that we could store extra frozen food items. So, these are great signs as far as I am concerned that your H is really committing to working on things!
I have no doubt in my mind now that H is coming back, I mean he brought me bear meat!! I had the freezer.
Didn't cave men used to bring wild animals to their woman! He also has been doing acts of service...now that is a good sign? Actions do speak louder than words don't they?
I believe this week will be a chance for me to do some pursuit of the thoughtful, you're my friend kind of thing.
