I have been getting an annoying cough each year during winter/spring for the last few years. It is just kind of a reflex/tickle thing and can be very annoying when trying to talk. I saw a doctor once and what he gave me did not work. Maybe I will go see the doctor again this year if it comes back.
Your best bet is to just communicate like a cave man.
I made up a profile to check on you guys but forgot the username I created or any false info I gave. I remember it had to do with bunny something... I deleted the email sent to me, need to make another one up to spy on you guys!
Hope your cough gets better soon. I hate coughing! K
I have decided that trying to look for motives or reasons is pointless. The bottom line is that she chose not to trust me. OK, I can understand that, the computer told her I was lying. I think I have finally figured out the cause (opening Match emails as I go through the mail to delete them), but I don't think I need to try to explain that. If she could spend as much time together as we did, and be that quick to not trust me, well, I can't help it.
The cough.... it's weird. It stays around year 'round, though I am pretty sure allergies are involved. I can go for hours with no coughing, then need to bring something up and sound like (and feel like) I am dying for a few minutes while that happens. It's like what would be a normal throat clearing turns into a major production. I think I have asthma like symptoms as a result of Valley Fever, but it will never be proven one way or the other. But treating it as asthma, and being a little more aggressive, seems to, maybe, be working. I hope so!
So if I get a notification (ie. someone winked/is interested from daily 5) or "your daily/weekly matches" email and view the email (after it downloads pictures) - that is all that it takes to get the status changed?
I wish they would only change the status when I physically go on the web site. Not that I care right now.

That's what the link BBJ posted (well, I had to do some poking from there, but...) seems to say. Opening a Match email (I expect actually loading the pics is what triggers it) updates your activity date. I think it's possible that when Thunderbird downloads my messages and marks them as read it might do it, but I don't think it should. I know I had not logged on, but I had opened daily fives, so there seems to be truth in that.
It does't seem quite right. Just clicking accidentally on the wrong line can do it, I think.
Yeah Jeff I noticed that the link I posted took you back to the main menu vs. where I had actually tried directing you. Pretty much any activity involving the website (Daily 5 emails, 'girl36-winked-at-you' notifications, etc) makes you show up as "Active within" that parameter of time...not so great!
Wow! I can't believe I haven't updated my thread in more than a week! What's the world coming to?
Really, there is very little happening. I haven't heard from Match Lady at all since I posted last. I'm not bothered by it so much anymore. I took a look at Match a couple nights ago, for the first time since the "incident", but didn't feel compelled to contact anyone. Saved a few to look at later, but that was it.
S20 was down from school last weekend. He realized he hadn't packed any warm clothes when he went up in August. So he and five friends came down for the weekend. The three guys stayed at my house, the three girls at tbxw's. She got the better end of the deal. The guys left a mess, my understanding is the girls didn't! I went out SUnday afternoon to do saome shopping. Before I left I mentioned that we actually had trash cans, and they were welcome to used them for various remains of what they had eaten... takeout boxes, cups, bones from wings... I got home, the kids were gone, all the crap was still out. I think I may tell him he needs to stay in a motel next time! On his dime, which I don't think he has!
The older boys' room is a complete disaster area. They each blame the other. I told them they should figure it out over Christmas. I suggested that after that I was going in with two bags. One for trash, and one for stuff I wanted! Somehow, I don't think they were listening! I am the master of clutter, but they've taken it to a new level.
Tbxw took the required Parent Education class Monday. She said it wasn't too bad. I take it tomorrow evening. That's the last thing that has to be done other than the calendar creeping along. I may hold off on getting things signed off until near the end of December. She says that her company won't change insurance except on the beginning of the month. And mine won't let me carry her after the D. I don't understand how her's can do that, I would have thought it would be handled similarly to having a baby, effective when it happens. She's already signed up to be covered at the first of the year. I might ask her to look into a month long policy to get her by, she's healthy, so unless something happens she would probably be fine.
It seems that the new meds my doc gave me might be helping. It's hard to tell yet, since it's kind of an intermittent thing to begin with, but I think I am having fewer coughing fits. That's a good thing!
Next project... clean the garage! There are trains out there asking to be worked on!
Have patience on the match.com grasshopper - you will get all kinds of ladies scrambling to contact you once your status changes. I got a new one that contacted me yesterday who looks like Sade (but with some hair loss). What she expresses in text was very nice and I believe she has read various R books.
I wonder what S20 and his guy friends rooms looks like at college.
Please let me know what the meds are that are helping the coughing fits just in case my seasonal coughing itch comes back.
