I wouldn't say you failed at all. Think about it you could have easily ended up sleeping with him again, instead you went to your own room even after he called you in to the spare room.(which I think was to see if he could subtly get you to sleep with him) You did well. It is confusing it hurts and we just want things to be better. It takes time. Positive steps though.
