Have you seen that episode of the Simpsons where Homer has a card that says "always do the opposite of what Bart says". I expect your W does not really know what she wants. Just be nice to her. It's true she is not being that nice to you, but I think she needs you to be strong for her right now. You don't have to take her crap, but just hang in there like you do.
